Rukotvorine's award-winning Umbra Table will be exhibited at the Washington DC International Design Festival as a part of The Next Wave exhibition.

.
The festival is organized by Apartment Zero and Artisphere and it presents a 3 month-long series of industrial design exhibitions, films, public programs, video and new media premiering February 21-May 19 2013.

Please join us for this exciting series of events that explore innovation in design from the past 13 years and feature a dramatic exhibition, workshops on topics as varied as the role of women in design as well as the fall and rise of American design, plus a rare appearance from Italian product designer Roberto Palomba, a photo design contest with top judges, a film covering inventions from the Vignelli duo, and an intimate theater showcasing video of product designers making their wares.

The Next Wave: Industrial Design Innovation in the 21st Century
Provocative, with a tightly-edited array of objects, The Next Wave exhibition will be a voice for objects that are rigorous and challenging—yet also beautiful. Creating objects that are works of art in themselves, each project will spark a new dialogue, diffusing preconceived notions of design and art, beauty and function while still capturing the spirit of the times. With over 150 objects covering the areas of lighting, tabletop, furniture, textile, product, electronics, housewares, tools and interactive design, The Next Wave will feature one-offs, prototypes and pieces in production from around the world.
